What happens when one in every four residents in your town follows you on Facebook? The small city of Ferndale, Washington, decided to take a completely different approach to social media, beginning a campaign of aggressive engagement across platforms to facilitate better civic conversations and build public trust. Sometimes it was an amazing success, sometimes a spectacular failure.
