Loss prevention and member resources
The daily operations of running a city or town are complex, that’s where RMSA comes in. We offer an in-depth program providing valuable tools to aide in managing some of the risks we are challenged with in today’s world. Our loss prevention program, paired with years of experience, brings to light some of the areas of concern that can be rectified to make our communities safer.
Zywave resources have been expanded to help you address both your HR and cybersecurity concerns. Resources include unlimited phone and chat access to HR & cyber professionals, online training videos, one free initial phishing system test and access to templates and forms to let you create your own personnel policies.
Our loss prevention grants give members the funds to cover costs for various risk management projects to reduce and eliminate exposures. We also provide grants to help our members with Lexipol subscriptions.

Our Member Standards provide consistent administrative practices for members, reducing property and liability losses. Adherence to the Member Standards impacts your coverage.
Our risk management staff is available to review your contracts, interlocal agreements and certificate of insurance for appropriate indemnity/hold harmless language and insurance requirements. Also, check out our DIY sample indemnity language finder tool.
Loss prevention inspection
RMSA conducts on-site risk assessments to identify member exposures and provide helpful resources to eliminate those risks. Inspections are conducted triennially or as needed. Contact rmsa@awcnet.org to request an inspection.
