Power of pooling – Trust cost savings
While many costs have increased in 2020, it’s a relief that a majority of your health care premiums didn’t increase at all! We know that savings is substantial for our members.
Now that we’re into our fifth decade serving municipalities with health care needs, we wanted to share some of the ways we consistently keep costs lower than trend and our competitors, year after year.
We work with the best in the business to keep fees low
Our long-standing relationship with the best carriers in the industry helps us negotiate some of the lowest administrative fees in the business. Our stop loss premiums are reduced based on the fact that we are a large pool and can withstand self-insuring claims at a higher level than individual employers can do on their own. We also pay no broker commission or bonus, providing savings each month for members.
We focus on the needs of municipalities
Our governing boards (the Employee Benefit Advisory Committee and Board of Trustees) are fiscally responsible for the long term, keeping the needs of Washington employers at the forefront of their decision making.
We are dedicated to health promotion
Our consistent ongoing health promotion efforts, including our WellCity program impacts overall health care costs positively.
We provide additional services at no additional cost
We save members money by providing COBRA administration services, customer service, billing, compliance mailings and premium collection at no additional cost to the employer. Our dependent verification services have saved nearly $1 million each year in premiums paid on ineligible dependents.
50 years and counting
We’re proud to provide high-quality benefit options at the best possible cost to the finest municipalities in the nation – right here in Washington. We look forward to serving you for the next 50 years!
